2. What Products Can Be Returned

Because cargo trailers are classified as titled motor vehicles, our return eligibility is strictly regulated by state and federal laws.

  • Eligible for Return: Brand new, unused, and completely unaltered trailers that possess a clean, unsigned Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO/Title) are eligible for return.
  • Cannot Be Returned: Any trailer that has been registered with your local DMV or DOT cannot be returned under any circumstances. Furthermore, final sale items, custom-built trailers, modified trailers (e.g., aftermarket wiring or welded racks), and trailers used to haul freight are strictly ineligible for return.

3. Return Timeframe

Returns are accepted strictly within 30 days of your delivery date. The delivery date is recorded as the day you or an authorized adult signs the Bill of Lading (BOL) during your curbside drop-off, as detailed in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

4. Item Condition Requirements

To qualify for a full return, the heavy equipment must meet the following mandatory conditions:

  • Condition: The trailer must be entirely unused. It cannot have been driven on the highway for personal use, loaded with cargo, or exposed to damaging worksite conditions.
  • Documentation: It must be in its original condition and include all original paperwork. Crucially, the MCO (Title) must remain blank and unassigned.
  • Accessories: It must include all original keys, spare tires, manuals, and removable ramps or accessories that were included at the time of delivery.

5. How to Start a Return

Because moving a massive trailer requires specialized logistics, do not attempt to tow the trailer back yourself. To begin a safe and authorized return, contact our dispatch team at Contact@cargotrailer.us with the following information:

  • Your 5-digit order number and billing name.
  • A clear, detailed reason for the return.
  • Current, well-lit photos of the trailer (showing all 4 exterior sides, the interior floor, the tires, and the metal VIN plate).

Once approved, our logistics team will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and coordinate with a heavy flatbed carrier to pick up the trailer from your location.

6. Return Shipping Costs

Shipping oversized vehicles requires expensive commercial transport.

  • Customer Responsibility: Customers are fully responsible for the heavy LTL return freight costs if the return is due to customer remorse (e.g., you ordered the wrong size, changed your mind, or miscalculated your towing capacity). We will arrange the transport, but the exact cost of the return freight will be deducted directly from your final refund. We do not charge arbitrary restocking fees.
  • Our Responsibility: If the trailer arrives with severe factory damage, or if we dispatched the incorrect model, CargoTrailer.us will cover 100% of the return towing and freight costs.

7. Refunds & Exchanges

Once the trailer arrives back at our Pennsylvania yard, our mechanics will perform a comprehensive inspection.

  • Refunds: Approved refunds are issued strictly to the original payment method within 3 to 5 business days after we receive and inspect your return.
